PLAY YOUR PART IN THE 2027 MEMBRANA FILM FESTIVAL

Membrana is the Latin word for film, and we are incredibly excited to bring the Membrana Film Festival to you, and to dig deep into the roots of the magic that is filmmaking

Following a successful 2nd edition, the 3rd edition will be held in August 2027 at the CULTPLEX Cinema in Manchester, UK, a cinema at the forefront of the indie film scene

Submissions are open for films and scripts on FilmFreeway and Festhome 

until May 17th 2027 (links below)

We want to be surprised by your films, and appreciate that we cannot build our festival without you, and that we will set ourselves apart by the quality of films we exhibit

We welcome shorts and features, across live-action narrative, animation, and documentary

We accept all genres, in any language, and enjoy to watch subtitled films that 

open us to new worlds, and take us to a land far far away 

The selections for our previous editions were very eclectic, and included 

biopic, comedy, drama, experimental / abstract, factual, fantasy, horror, thriller, and more

We also offer the option to receive written coverage (feedback) on your script, 

and a service to review and perfect the English subtitles on your film

We look forward to receiving your films and scripts,
